We are wrapping it up. I had a great time and I think others here did also.

Pneumatics and more

Written by Dominik Rabenaldt
We had a special guest demonstrate some more pneumatics and other Chauvet products. http://www.halloweffects.com/ He made sure to mention that all PC members should call him for pricing and not order online.

Pneumatics by David Gent

Written by Dominik Rabenaldt
David and his wife were nice enought to show us their animated elf project using pneumatics to turn their elves. Pretty unique creations.

DIY Controllers

Written by Dominik Rabenaldt
Sean Burns was nice enough to give us a lecture on his homemade circuits and SSRs. He also provided us a copy of Vixen.

Working Lunch

Written by Don Teague
It’s a working lunch, and Jeff Womack has more objects to show us. It’s a review of bubble machines, and other items that you might not have considered using in your display.

Mr. Womack - yet again!

Written by Dominik Rabenaldt
Jeff is currently (11:59 am) talking about gimmicks for your display. He is really pushing bubble machines controlled using a remotes.

LOR with Don

Written by Dominik Rabenaldt
Don Teague is now up - took a while for Jeff to finish (9:58). This is a continuation of last night/this morning (12:30am) session.

Womack Speaks

Written by Don Teague

In typical Jeff Womack style, he starts the day with an ice breaker section, and manages to go on for half and hour talking about his display. Sure, we like to hear what he’s up to, and we learned a thing or two, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t take another shot at him this weekend.

We did get to see 1 section of his huge custom wire frame piece he will be using this year. I think most of us here agree we can’t wait to see it lights.

Sunday 9:12 AM

We are starting with more door prizes. There are some good presentation to come, so stay tuned.

Dinner with 60 of your closest friends

Written by Chris Vyvial
Well after the first day of activities we went to a local Tex-Mex restaurant Mi Tierra’s. You get a few stares when a group of our size walks in. But where else do Christmas light enthusiasts go than a restaurant with Christmas lights up year round. Food was great and what better way to cap off a great day. Can’t wait for tomorrow. I guess the spring even will be even bigger better and larger. If you missed this one we are having another one in the spring.

After the Ice Breaker ….

Written by Don Teague
Honorary Texans, The Herrons, are up with their display. They are Animated Lighting users, so it’s more about AL. Tom has some tools and ideas for those who are just getting started with Christmas decorating. They are supporters of LED lights, and as a result their daughter, Rachel, has the results of her nearly year long science project.

More Ice Breaker

Written by Don Teague
We had to stop the Ice Breaker before lunch … because food is so much more important. There were a few people who didn’t get a chance to introduce themselves, so we’re taking a few moments to wrap that up.

Cake!

Written by Don Teague
The lovely Mrs. Vyvial (Chris’ wife) has again this year baked a cake for us. We took a quick break to enjoy it. Pictures to come …

1000bulbs.com

Written by Don Teague
Kim Pedersen, with 1000bulbs.com is up on the podium giving a demonstration of his products. Kim’s company is growing by leaps and bounds each year. I would expect some great deals on Christmas lights to be had here in the next few weeks. For those in attendance, here is a link to the LED Bead Garland lights mentioned during his presentation.

Animated Lighting

Written by Don Teague

Ken Good has the floor and is now giving a demonstration on Animated Lighting.

A very informative presentation about how Ken got started with Animated Lighting, along with a breif tutorial of the software. We even got so see some of his shows for the 2006 season.

After Lunch …

Written by Don Teague

We’ve taken a detour from the schedule. Jeff Trykoski is showing us the work that he’s doing with the City of Frisco. It’s a project that will have over 700 channels of LOR control. Quite possibly could be the largest public/private display in the nation. (It’s the goal, anyway.)

To say the least, it will be very large.

Lunch time. Ice Breaker to resume afterwards.

Ice Breaker

Written by Dominik Rabenaldt
To keep people on PC up to date, right now we are performing the Ice Breaker session. More to come.

D-Light

Written by Jeff Womack
Dick Miller and Darryl of D-Light are up front talking about their products from D-Light. So far this morning we have given several door prizes and just gave away a $50 gift certificate compliments of D-Light. Darryl is currently talking about their DC boards and talking about some of their new offers. Once I confirm that we can announce the new products you will be able to see details here.Great news! Darryl just approved spreading the word via TCL.com!

Bryce talking about electrical work

Written by Don Teague
Live on stage now, it’s Bryce with a demonstration about testing your lights, and calculating your light loads. He has a high voltage light tester that we’re about to test a string of lights with. Something of note: the high voltage light testers are good only for 50 count stingers. Since most strands are 100 count, you would have to disable the other half of lights before you go to test.

Getting Started

Written by Don Teague
The day has started, and Jeff Womack is up on the podium going over our new organization, TexasChristmasLights.com. We have a schedule for the rest of the day, though I don’t think we’re going to stick with it.

Good Morning!
