Texas Christmas Lights holds a yearly event, now called the “Texas Christmas Lights Workshop.”
However, these types of meeting predate our group!
Long before the creation of Texas Christmas Lights, people in the state of Texas got together at events which were named, “Lonestar Mini-PLUS.” The name comes from the “Lone Star State” slogan, and the PLUS acronym, “Planetchristmas Lights Up Symposium.”
On November, 13, 2004, Dan and Marilyn Caron held the first “Lonestar Mini-PLUS” at their home in Kileen, Texas. This was a small event, with about 12 people in attendance.
In the Fall of 2005 the second Lonestar Mini-PLUS was held at the home of a Dallas area resident. We had closer to 20 people show up for this event.
In the Spring of 2006, the event returned to Dan and Marilyn’s place, and our attendance grew to nearly 30 people! It was after this meeting that Texas Christmas Lights was formed, and the Lonestar Mini-PLUS name was retired.
