The following is a report of the March meeting from a TCL member.
18 total members came by Saturday, and many of us were there for 8 hours or more! Ethan may have some pics from day 1 as well; stay tuned!
Sunday was a slower day, but 8 members still came to the center for some good times.
People got mini trees worked on, controllers soldered, large wireframes (check out John’s star in Dennis’ post!) wired up, Radio transmitters worked on (thanks David!), a LOT of LOR 2 programming discussion, and work progressed on the workshop plans as well!
It was also great to see some of the Dallas guys come on by (by car AND airplane!) to say hi.
Our next meeting is being planned this week (for mid to late April) and right now it looks like we’re going to meet at Jersey Village and go on our first HOUSTON FIELD TRIP to the site of the summer workshop: the Lone Star Convention Center! Also sounds like Jeff Womack is going to try to join us for that one as well.
Please remember to visit the Workshop Registration site and add the info if you’re available to help set up and tear down (Ethan added the option to the registration window). Also, anyone who wants to help with the Mega Tree committee should contact Jeff Fain, who was nominated… er, volunteered… to head up this important piece of our decorating. Also, watch over the next few weeks as we will be adding some more “decorating teams” to the workshop planning.
Great to see all of you this weekend! If I’m not mistaken, this is the first two day local workshop that has been put on and I think it was fantastic to see people come out for LOOOOONG meetings over two whole days! Makes me proud to be a part of TCL and the Houston chapter in particular.
