I am happy to announce that the May meeting will be held at my place. I live in Flower Mound, 5 Miles West of 35E and 5 Miles North of DFW Airport. For most members it should be less then a 20 minute drive. With the expected good weather, I figured we can do some grilling and have a little fun to kick off summer. Below is the tentative schedule, which will include a Power Point with some topics to discuss. I am thinking we will do this more roundtable discussing vs. a formal class layout so any topic is fair game and all questions can be answered. I have a projector and presentation room along with a lot of seating and open areas. I will open up my garage for a work area, so feel free to bring anything you want to show off or get input on. I will provide hamburgers and hot dogs, and coffee for Don, but if everyone else can pick an item to bring, that would be awesome. Below is a list of items I can think of, but feel free to bring whatever you want.

11:00 AM - Welcome, Introductions, & Ice Breaker
11:10 AM - Lunch served

All topics are open to change - If you have any requests or ideas or want to help feel free to contact me.

Food Request: Assorted Chips, Assorted Drinks, Ketchup, Mustard, Relish, Paper Plates, Forks, Cups, Cookies, Cupcakes, Potato Salad, Whatever else

Hi Folks,
The next meeting has been set.

Where: Scott Ballenger’s House
How to get there: Directions are at http://www.projectxmas.info/
When: Saturday April 19, 1-5pm
What: Christmas Talk, photos, videos, upcoming Houston workshop news, demo of mini-tree styles.
Who: Why everyone, of course.

This is an informal meeting with a (very) loose set of topics. I know I need to re-work my mini-trees for this year so I thought I’d put that out as a topic. Feel free to bring your own project or ideas. Don’t have an idea? No problem! Just show up and I’m sure you will get some inspiration.

Because of the short notice, you can help by bringing a few items with you:
- photos of your display or project
- videos of your display in action (if you have it readily available)
- Your questions
- Maybe a couple of bucks for some drinks/snacks

Hope to see you all there.

Robert Stephenson

PS. A very special thank you to Scott for volunteering his home.

Guys and Gals, it is that time again! Time for a Dallas Chapter Meeting!

After the GREAT success of February’s meeting we are hoping to repeat if not better the attendance. Bring your friends, family, and neighbors - all are welcome and we don’t turn anyone away (the fire marshal might, but we won’t).

Harrison is planning on bring plenty of equipment to demonstrate (LOR ‘PC’ controller, Showtime controller, Director, Mini-Director, Ramsey FM30B, LOR Computer System, S2).

Several other members have talked about having a little structured sequencing class and show how it all comes together for the newbies of the group. Each station will have a laptop, LOR adapter, LOR Controller, and lights. Please provided feedback and let us know if there is interest; we can always strike this idea. We had some talk about DMX if someone can bring a few fixtures and LOR DMX controller.

But mostly the same format as in the past - everyone has fun. Please post any requests for things you would like to see (Website Design and Hosting, Security, Webcams, Hardware, Electrical, LEDs, LOR Triggers) so we can have the equipment and kind of plan a little. Also any projects you have are more then welcome.

Fabian has volunteered to bring his high voltage bulb tester to demonstrate. If you have any bad incandescent strings bring them, along with some replacement bulbs and we will help clean them up for you.

Food will be the same as before - Pot Luck - so bring what you want. Please post in the forums what you are planning on bring so we can fill in the blanks. This worked GREAT and I think we had a nice spread.

WiFi will be provided (For those of you who HAVE to be connected); we have access to a DVD & VHS player along with an overhead projector.

Date: 29 March 2008
Time: 10:00 AM to when we call it quits or we get kicked out
Food: Pot Luck
Location: Grand Prairie Animal Shelter on Warrior Trail
2222 W Warrior Trail
Grand Prairie, TX 75052

Thank You Bob and Kenda Stacy for providing an excellent location at the Grand Prairie Animal Shelter. The animal shelter is so kind to let us use their facility for FREE so we do ask for a small monetary donation to be made to them. We will have a collection jar with the sign in sheet; our target is minimum $5 per person and $200 as a group. This will go to help many needy animals and your help will be greatly appreciated.

An after party will be announced later and will be held at a local (to the meeting location) member’s house (If the invitation is still open).

Dogs are welcome but they have to be friendly and play well with others. Kids are welcomed too, with the same restrictions.
