| Lone Star Mini PLUS Spring 2006 “The Last of the Breed” Killeen, Texas |
![]() |
In April 2006, Marilyn and Dan Caron once again opened their doors to the Lone Star Mini. This time we just about maxed out the size of anyone’s house with over 30 attendees. This meeting was end of an era with the attendees deciding that they wanted to change the way we do the Lone Star Mini’s. Instead of once a year for one day we would meet semi-annually for two days and the locations would be rotated around the state. The initial rotation was decided to be the Spring events would be in Central Texas and the Fall Events would rotate between North and South Texas. It was also decided that because of our growth that we should look for meeting facilities outside of anyone’s home and that an admission would be charged to cover the expenses. This Mini would cover many of the same topics as previous events and included a presentation of Bob Moody’s North Poles, Glenn Sessions giving a welding demo and lessons for anyone interested, the announcement of Jeff Trykowski getting into municipal decorating and games with lots of great prizes. And rice lights! Finally two of the families who were attending for the first time brought major contributions. Chris and Jennifer Cvyvial brought along a custom designed and incredibly delicious Lone Star Mini cake. Dennis and Mary Duke who own a custom t-shirt company created t-shirts based on the city of Killeen’s Christmas logo for anyone who wanted one. Once again Chris Berglund flew down from Minnesota to join us.
